MATCH REPORT | HULL FC (H)

The Giants were edged out by Hull FC 10-11 at the John Smith's Stadium in Round 3 of the Betfred Super League.
Luke Robinson brought in young star Aidan McGowan on the wing for this game against Hull FC and the young man impressed early on, with some strong carries and meterage.
However, it would be Hull FC who opened the scoring in controversial circumstances, as Lewis Martin looked like he was all wrapped up, but wriggled free to then touch down, but lost the ball in while grounding, the video referee saw enough evidence and overruled the on-field decision of no-try to award the score.
We hit back straight after, as a charging run from Sam Hewitt saw him offload to Jacob Gagai who crashed over underneath the posts, George Flanagan adding the extras to put us into the lead for the first time.
The game was played in the middle of the park for the first 40, with both sides testing each other out set for set, however we would score again just before the break.
A superb looping pass from Tui Lolohea sent Adam Swift in at the corner for his first try of the season, that would be how the scores stood after the first half, 10-4.
In the second half, it was a game of few chances for the first twenty minutes as both sides struggled to make metres, with few opportunities to look to attack the FC line.
As the game went on, Tui Lolohea looked to repeat his earlier looping pass to swift, but this time it was picked off by Harvey Barron who ran the length and tied up the scores.
We then pushed on, giving ourselves some great field position however when we set-up for the drop goal, some confusion saw the attempt go wide and for a seven tackle restart and Hull FC profited.
Aidan Sezer slotted the one point and sealed the two points for the visiting side, which saw a huge effort from Luke Robinson's men leave empty handed.
